Special Events
There are many special events happening in our area all year round. Some of the annual events are listed below. We will add listings for new events here as they are announced.
Here is a brief list of just some of the local events in our area:
Springtime
Shad Fest 2008: April 26 & 27, Lambertville, NJEach year the Lambertville Shad Fest highlights our region's arts community, the City of Lambertville, the Delaware River, and of course, the region's most famous fish, the Shad! The Shad Festival has evolved from a local art show into a nationally recognized, award winning event. This two-day extravaganza Fest features the area's finest artists and crafters, great food and family entertainment, and serves as a venue for local non-profit organizations. May: New Hope Celebrates "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (Dates TBA) New Hope, PA. Sponsored by the New Hope Chamber of Commerce, this town-wide event celebrates the diversity of the BGLT community with a parade in downtown and other special entertainment activities in and around New Hope.
Summertime
Tubing, kayaking, boating and other sports! There is a Summer Festival at nearby Washington Crossing Park. This event features re-enactors dressed in Revolutionary War-period costumes. You can observe sporting activities on the river right from Mystique, or can join in using a kayak we can provide.
Antiquing is in full bloom in the area during the summer in various locations. Please refer to our Surrounding Area page.
Autumn
Halloween costume parties
Hayrides at Shady Brook Farm (only 3 minutes away)
Santa Saturday November 23 - 25, 2007: (a big "leather event" with a parade in New Hope and many other activities at The Raven Resort)
Winter
Annual re-enactment of George Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware River at nearby Washington Crossing Park. Visit the Washington Crossing Visitor Center Museum (free)
New Years parties are held at many places in New Hope and in the surrounding area.
